Scrapblogging

Scrapblogging is FUN!!! I blame Kristen (and boredom) for this latest addiction!!

I thought I'd create a scrapbook of last year's GW trip to Hong Kong. Turned out okay, even though, less is probably more! I have yet to appreciate that sentiment! As you may be able to tell from the hodgepodge of shapes, stickers and what-nots I put in the frikking thing!

Cheers then!

Well...

...so much for that then...

Hope Sri Lanka wins the World Cup Final (PULEEEZE GOD)!! Else, I will have to do what a certain little village in India did, after their country crashed out of the WC, just ban the sport from my life!

Nervous...

By this time tomorrow, South Africa's World Cup campaign may very well be over!!

This just in from the Caribbean!

South Africa have crushed, maimed, destroyed, humiliated and quite soundly thrashed, the English cricket team to advance into the semi finals!! To be honest, after the crap way the team's been playing, I didn't think they could do it!
Let's hope they have it in them to pull another match like that out of the bag! Other semi finalists are Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka!! This year the Southern Hemisphere teams are showing world cricket where the party's at!

Let's move on to bigger and better things, boys!!!

This is f'my friends...

Y'all know who you are... feck... I know there must be SOMEONE out there I can call a friend! And this is for that (those) someone(s). A poem about TRUE friendship!

1 . When you are sad - I will help you get drunk and plot revenge against the sorry bastard who made you that way.

2. When you are blue - I will make you hit the town and get #### faced.

3. When you smile - I will know you've finally had sex.

4. When you are scared - I will tease the crap out of you about it every chance I get.

5. When you are worried - I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be and to stop your bloody whining.

6. When you are confused - I will talk to you like you're a retard with slow hand gestures.

7. When you are sick - I will tell you that you're weak and you should walk it off.

8. When you fall - I will point and laugh at your clumsiness and tell everyone what you did.

This is my oath...I pledge it till the end.

Why you may ask? Because you are my friend.

24 Eyes and the shrine...

So another of Shodoshima's claims to fame is that the movie 24 eyes was filmed there. All about a school teacher who taught the only 12 kids in this little village! Apparently quite a moving flick. Anyway, so we visited the village where it was filmed and everything was kept pretty much the way it was in the movie. Kind of creepy with this music track of little children singing playing over and over and over again! Very interesting...

I tried to get the beach in the background of this pic! But it's all blurry! Boo...

A hawk/eagle(?)

We also visited a shrine in a cave! We went in, wrote down our prayers/wishes and had two monks chanting/praying for us! It was a really cool experience, the setting was fabulous and in the back of the temple are these windows so you can see how high up in the mountains you are!

Olive Garden and Soy Sauce Factory

So Shodoshima is famous for two things, soy sauce and olives! The Mediterranean climate is perfect for olive growing and a visit to the Olive Garden was a fantastic opportunity to buy the coolest olive omiyage imaginable!

Not quite at the Olive Garden! This statue is second in size only to the one in Murakami. Niigata wins again!!
The Entrance to the Olive Garden! Everything has a distinctly Greek theme.

These are some recently graduated High School students we were introduced to!

Shodoshima Angel Road

Angel Road is a stretch of beach connecting three small islands to the larger Shodoshima. It is only accessible during low tide. Cindy and I went at sunset, the light was stunning, the weather was gorgeous and the scenery was amazing!
