... this happened. And it was felt around the country as evidenced by the map of seismic activity...

Personally, it was the longest-lasting earthquake I've ever experienced. It devastated the northeastern part of Japan and triggered a series of gigantic tsunamis that swept away everything in their destructive paths. The effects of this one will be felt emotionally, psychologically and financially for a very long time to come.

So happy you made it unharmed (though a little shaken) through the first 8.9 quake, how was the early morning 6.7 quake though? Are you getting any sleep with all the aftershocks?

Y'all are all in my thoughts & prayers and my heart goes out to all of Japan!

Love ya Hun!!!

Thanks babe! I think by now you would have gotten my email, yeah? It woke me up in a panic... I mean I was up and out of bed in seconds... then running into the living room to hold onto my fish tank in case it decided to dive onto the floor (luckily I'd placed the other one on the floor the night before). When I looked out NONE of my neighbours' lights were on. I would have expected them to be jumpier after the events of yesterday... but nope, I was the only jumpy, tense one in my neighbourhood.

Love to you too. Wish I was there rather than here at the moment.
